Arena News GALLERY POSTER SHOPPE DONATES ORIGINAL PAINTINGGALLERY POSTER SHOPPE DONATES ORIGINAL PAINTING CELEBRATING BLUE JACKETS FANS “Makin’ a Racket with the Blue Jackets” prints available at The Blueline Columbus-based Gallery Poster Shoppe commissioned artist Bob Leathers, a Cleveland native, to complete a 4’x5’ oil painting depicting a group of exuberant Columbus Blue Jackets fans cheering for the home team in order to donate the original work to the hockey club. The painting, valued at $10,000, is entitled “Makin’ a Racket with the Blue Jackets” and is displayed at Nationwide Arena near the McConnell Street entrance.
“The Gallery Poster Shoppe donated the original as a token of our appreciation to Mr. McConnell for bringing us the Columbus Blue Jackets,” said Steve Campbell, owner of Gallery Poster Shoppe.
“Makin’ a Racket with the Blue Jackets” is the latest in Leathers’ “Fantastic Fan” series that started with the Cleveland Browns and has continued with honoring fans of the Cleveland Indians as well as Buckeye fans at Ohio Stadium.
The 16x20 print reproductions of “Makin’ a Racket with the Blue Jackets” may be purchased at The Blueline team store located at Nationwide Arena as well as several frame shops in the Columbus area. For more information, call The Blueline at (614) 246-3200.
