Event & Arena News U.S. WOMEN’S NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL TEAM TAKES ON CHINESE JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAMThe U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team, currently ranked third in the world, hosts the Chinese Junior National Team in a competitive exhibition game at Nationwide Arena on Sunday, April 27 at 4 p.m. Since capturing the silver medal at the 2002 Women’s Volleyball World Championships in Germany, the National Team is now gearing up to qualify for the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Greece. Led by world-renowned volleyball trainer Toshi Yoshida, this year’s squad features three-year National Team veteran Wiz Bachman along with Tracy Stalls, a player less than one year removed from her high school graduation. Another standout is Erin Aldrich who is attempting to become a dual-sport Olympian. She represented the United States in track and field (high jump) in the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Australia and is now setting her sights on making the Olympic Volleyball Team in 2004. Aldrich was an All-American in both sports at the University of Texas. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 15 at noon at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office and through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $15, $12 and $8 (prices include $1 facility fee). A group discount of $3 off the $15 and $12 tickets is available by calling (614) 246-3355. In addition, a limited number of $25 VIP tickets are also available.
