HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS BRING GREAT BASKETBALL AND FAMILY FUN TO NATIONWIDE ARENA DECEMBER 27 COLUMBUS, OH – The World Famous Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their 2005 "World of Fun" North American Tour to Columbus when they face the New York Nationals on Monday, December 27 at 7 p.m. at Nationwide Arena. Tickets are on sale now at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office and through Ticketmaster.
"Our 2004 North American Tour was a record-breaking year for the Globetrotters and as we approach our 80th anniversary, we have grown more and more appreciative of the support we receive from our fans across the country," said Globetrotters' Owner & Chairman, Mannie Jackson. "In 2005, we are excited to bring our 'World of Fun' Tour to 250 U.S. cities and 40 countries around the globe. We look forward to bringing that Globetrotter world to Columbus."
Fans can expect the Globetrotters to continue the tradition of introducing several new and amazing ball-handling and comic routines during every game and at the conclusion of each game, every child has an opportunity to meet a Globetrotter during the 30-minute "meet and greet" session. Finally, the Globetrotters build bridges in every community they play by visiting schools, hospitals and youth-based organizations. In the last ten years the organization has donated over $10 million to local and national charities.
The Harlem Globetrotters have played in 117 countries and before over 121 million fans worldwide. In 2002, the organization was only the fifth team to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame; followed by an induction into the Black Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame and the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame. They have also been recognized as the most popular sports team by the 2002, 2000 and 1999 Q Ratings. Tickets are $14, $19 and $22 (includes $1 facility fee) with a limited number of VIP and Magic Circle tickets available. Tickets may be purchased at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, online at ticketmaster.com or by phone at (614) 431-3600. Tickets are also available at the Blue Jackets Zones at the Chillers in Dublin and Easton. All tickets are subject to service charges and facility fees.
