COLUMBUS, OH – After selling over 2.5 million tickets worldwide in 2007 and garnering numerous industry accolades including “Major Tour of The Year” (Pollstar), “Tour of the Year” and “Top Selling Tour of 2007” (Billboard Magazine), The Police have announced their final 30 North American tour dates which include a stop at Nationwide Arena on Sunday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 23 at 10 a.m. at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office and through Ticketmaster.

In 1977, The Police stormed the music scene by blending reggae, punk, jazz and rock. Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers created an unmistakably nuanced sound filled with evocative melodies, infectious lyrics and rock & roll swagger. The Police dominated the top of the charts and radio airwaves worldwide with five #1 albums and a succession of top 10 hit singles. In the six years they were together, The Police became one of the world's most famous bands, earning six Grammy Awards and countless fans around the globe.

He has received a number of Grammy nominations for his recent albums When I Was Cruel, The Delivery Man and for his 2006 collaboration with Allen Toussaint, The River in Reverse. His songs have been recorded by a great number of artists with a list as diverse as his range of musical styles including: No Doubt, Solomon Burke, Dusty Springfield, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash.
